Someone one told me that in order to become a somewhat famous musician, your playing has to be good, your marketing has to be good, but most importantly, your presentation has to be good. When it comes to tech companies, I think of their marketing as the ads they show on YouTube and stuff, and their presentation as their launch events. Apple has all three of these things. Their products are the best. The way they present those products is the best, and their marketing is the best.
Samsung does not have all these things. Samsung's products are not the best. Their marketing is trash, and their presentation is very bad. The way Samsung says "upgrade to Galaxy" doesn't sit well with consumers because most people think that the iPhone is the best, so people just get annoyed with Samsung and don't want to buy their products. That's how I feel at least. I mean, you can't say "upgrade to Galaxy" when a $400 iPhone SE 2nd gen is more powerful than a $1,400 Galaxy s20 Ultra.
Google doesn't have any of these things. When it comes to Google Pixel phones, their phones are absolute garbage. The way they present those products is so trashy, and the way they do their marketing is trash.
